If writing a blog has taught me anything, it’s how much I don’t know. Thankfully, being successful isn’t about knowing everything, but about knowing where to find good, useful information in a timely fashion. That’s one of the reasons we have a Facebook page. You’ll find constantly updated content there culled from some of the greatest minds on things that can help you develop more personally, and/or help your business grow.
Here’s a sampling of some items posted to our Facebook page. I’m betting some of them will appeal to you:
How to Become a Thought Leader on LinkedIn. Don’t let the title fool you; this information goes way beyond LinkedIn, especially since they are no longer accepting applications for thought leaders (that’s a good thing, because I can’t imagine one applying as a thought leader)! The article, written by Lewis Howes, a thought leader in his own right, will help you become a de facto thought leader. That in turn can lead to LinkedIn (and others) recognizing you as one. Why would you even want to become one in the first place? Because it can help you help others in a more significant way.
The Top 6 Reasons Women Are Not Leading in Corporate America as We Need Them To. That title alone may spark controversy! However, if you are a woman or are in a position to help nurture women in leadership positions, this is a must-read. Kathy Caprino of Ellia Communications lays out 6 powerful arguments why the situation exists and, more importantly, steps you can take to address the issue.
Start Small, Win Big Winner: Tami Provost’s Fit on the Fly. What holds you back from achieving the success that you want? In Tami Provost’s case, it was fear of rejection. See how she took part in the challenge, followed the advice, and not only won, but boosted her business dramatically in the process! By the way, there is a Start Small, Win Big challenge this year (2013) that you can participate in. Just click the big “Sign Up” banner at the top of the page.
TJ Hoisington’s interview with Dean Karnazes. Dean Karnazes is a marthoner’s marathoner. Dubbed the Ultra Marathon Man, he’s done some amazing (some would say crazy) things: running 350 continuous miles (that’s right, he didn’t sleep for three nights!), running 50 marathons in 50 days, and run a marathon to the South Pole in -40º weather. He’s also one of Time magazine’s “Top 100 Most Influential People in the World.” Find out his philosophies on success, achievement, and family. This is a 2-for-1 entry: You can also sign up for TJ’s Lessons on Success.
Sheryl Crow – 100 Miles From Memphis. What does this have to do with business and personal growth? It’s Sheryl Crow! ‘Nuff said! (Okay, so there is a nugget in there on going back to basics and not constantly reinventing the wheel) So click the link. Enjoy the video. Remember, it’s not all about the hustle. Kick back and relax a bit!
